Sue Cowley, Getting the Buggers to Behave
What is this strategy about?
“Stress the positive” should be your motto.
Why is the importance of a positive learning environment?
A positive classroom is one of the most important elements of a successful working environment. It is important to maintain an environment that is supportive and tolerant of all students. This will help children feel comfortable and confident and encourage them to participate in discussions.
What is positive teaching?
Positive teaching enables children to feel valued and allows them to understand growth and expertise. This can be done through praising children for good work and encouraging them to focus on what has gone well and what they can do to improve next time.
