Strategy SourceRose Moss, MFL teacher
What is this strategy about?MFL teaching in primary often has to be timetabled in for weekly or even fortnightly sessions - this can result in issues with retention, engagement and planning.
What are the benefits of learning a modern foreign language?
People who speak more than one language have improved memory, can process information better and have more advanced multi-tasking skills.
How can you ensure students remember teachings from previous lessons?
Keep an MFL display in your classroom - make it exciting and, if possible, interactive. You don’t want pupils distracted in other lessons but you do want to keep reminders on the wall of previous learning, keywords, exciting facts etc.
