Engagement with MFL

  1. Strategy Overview
    Strategy Source
    Gillian Judson, Kieran Egan

    What is this strategy about?
Games, drama, play, rhythm and rhyme, pattern, story, image, creation, metaphor, personalizing objects, changing the context, a sense of wonder, a sense of mystery, and the odd (and not-so-odd) joke are all tools that compose the pedagogical toolkit of most, if not all, second language teachers.

What are the benefits of learning a modern foreign language?
People who speak more than one language have improved memory, can process information better and have more advanced multi-tasking skills.

Why is it important to keep MFL lessons engaging?
When lessons and fun, engaging and enjoyable, students are more willing to participate, concentrate and are more likely to process information effectively.
