  1. Strategy Overview

    What is this strategy about?
Whilst it is tempting to ‘catch’ a parent or for them to ‘catch’ you directly after school, this strategy outlines why you should try to avoid ‘quick chats’ quick parents, but definitely avoid it in the playground.

Why is it useful for teachers and parents to communicate?
When parents and teachers communicate openly and effectively with each other, they can work together to support students to facilitate the best educational experience for them. This is a great opportunity to discuss any learning or behavioural issues that need attention.

Why is it important to have a more professional relationship with parents?
Developing a professional relationship with parents will help teachers to improve their strategies to improve student performance. In addition to this, it also ensures confidentiality and safety as other parents and students won't be able to listen in to the conversations if it's held in a formal meeting setting.
