What is this strategy about?
Ask pupils for answers regardless of whether they’ve raised their hands.
How can you ensure that all students are engaged in your lesson?
Call on every student for an answer during the lesson in some way so that children are kept engaged during lessons. (And call on some people twice so that they don’t think they answer one and that’s it.)
How do I put this into place in my classroom?
In order to encourage engagement, trial just cold calling pupils for 6 weeks. This means no hands up to answer questions for 6 weeks!
