What is this strategy about?
Issues with prior knowledge can be alleviated by careful planning to ensure all pupils have opportunities to address this issue.
What is prior knowledge?
Prior knowledge is the knowledge that the learner already has before learning new information.
Why is it important to activate prior knowledge?
New learning is constructed on prior knowledge. Recalling prior knowledge allows students to reinforce learning and helps them to make connections to new information so that it makes sense.
