    What is this strategy about?
Identifying pupils’ level of understanding and using that to inform your objectives and assessment is essential for pupils to reach mastery level and enable pupils to apply their knowledge.

How can teachers evaluate their student's level of understanding?
Ask pupils to support ideas with simple comprehension by referencing details in a text. This will allow students to reveal their understanding of what they have learned.
